Who can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship

You are eligible for the Erasmus Mundus Category A scholarship if

  • You are a national coming from a third country.
  • You are not a resident of any of the 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein.
  • You have not carried out your main activity (studies, work, private visits, tourism, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the 27 European Union Member States, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein.
  • You have not applied to more than 3 Erasmus Mundus Masters.

You are eligible for the Erasmus Mundus Category B scholarship if

  • You are a European student
  • You are a non European student but you do not fulfill category A requirements

Does the Erasmus Mundus scholarship include both registration fees and living costs?

Eligible  Category A students receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship of 47,000 euros for two academic years, in order to finance their participation to the MACLANDS programme. Eligible category B students receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship included between 17 000 € and 20 000 €.
The coordinating institution will deduct registration fees.  Students will also have to pay national registration fees.  The scholarship will be paid monthly to the students by the coordinating institution.  It covers all living costs, whichever country they are living in at the time.

How many Erasmus Mundus scholarships are there for 2010-2012?

For 2010-12, the number of  Category A scholarships is 10, plus 2 for the Balkan Window and 8 category B scholarship.

May I apply to two Erasmus Mundus masters and scholarships?

Yes.   However, you can apply to no more than 3 Masters Erasmus Mundus in order to be eligible for a scholarship.
